Defeating Persis Solo, Borneo FC Wins EPA League 1 U-16

Bekasi, Beritasatu.com – Borneo FC Samarinda won the U-16 Elite Pro Academy (EPA) League 1 after beating Persis Solo 2-1 in a match which took place at the Garudayaksa Academy Field, Bekasi, Wednesday (6/3/2024).

Two goals from striker Dika Adi Nurdiansyah in the 33rd and 39th minutes could only be answered by Persis Solo through a goal from attacking midfielder, Lockna Janu Syahriat, in extra time of the first half.

“Alhamdulillah, first of all I want to thank Allah SWT because today we managed to become champions. The match was quite difficult because Persis Solo is a solid team, but the children managed to carry out their strategy well,” said Borneo FC coach, Furqon ,

Furqon further said that the success achieved by Pesut Etam could not be separated from a long preparation process by selecting young players from various regions in Indonesia.

“Since the preparation stage, we have opened selections from various cities and we are trying to find the best by selecting from Aceh to Papua. You can see from their faces, there are players from Aceh to Papua in this team,” he said.

However, Furqon did not deny that the title won by Borneo FC could not be separated from the hard work of the players who were able to apply the strategies that had been taught.

“We made it to the final and became champions because of the hard work of the players. I really appreciate the hard work the players showed both in training sessions and in matches, so that we could become champions,” he said.
