Erick Thohir Will Not Force the Naturalization of Inter Milan Goalkeeper

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – General Chairman of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) Erick Thohir gave a positive signal but did not force the process of naturalizing the goalkeeper of Indonesian descent who is currently playing for Inter Milan, Emil Audero Mulyadi.

Previously, Erick Thohir, who is also the former President of Inter Milan, had a meeting with Nerazzurri goalkeeper, Emil Audero Mulyadi.

“Just like Emil Audero, I said that we remain open, but we don't want to use the term force,” said Erick Thohir, Friday (19/4/2024).

“Because as friends asked, Justin Hubner landed, immediately played. Nathan Tjoe-A-On came, immediately played, meaning there was no coercion. They played immediately, with the risk of injury, but they wanted to defend the red and white, that's what we hope,” added the BUMN Minister.

Erick warned that the players currently in the Indonesian squad are not paid players.

This stigma must be removed because the Indonesian squad is currently playing to defend the Red and White flag.

“You can see that in the PSSI administration there are no payments, everything is transparent and everyone wants to defend the Red and White,” said Erick.

Emil Audero is now in the Inter Milan uniform and is just one step away from ensuring his fourth Scudetto in his career. He won three Italian League titles while with Juventus.

The Lombok-born player has the status of an Italian citizen. It was widely rumored that he was interested in defending the Garuda team after uploading the Red and White flag on his social media page.

Throughout his career, the 27 year old player has recorded 10 matches with the Italian U-21 national team. However, he has yet to make his debut with Gli Azzurri.
