European Union Will Force Apple to Open iPadOS Ecosystem
According to the DMA, iPadOs is considered as gatekeeper are prohibited from favoring their own services over their competitors and locking users into the ecosystem.
The software must also allow third parties to interact with internal services, which is why third-party app stores have become popular on iPhones for the European market.
In a statement published by ForbesApple confirmed it will continue to engage constructively with the European Commission to ensure designated services comply with the DMA, including iPadOS.
However, companies are not too happy and accuse the law of creating new privacy and data security risks.
