Mexican lawyer – A court in Mexico City has ordered Google to pay 245 million dollars (more than 233 million euros) to a lawyer who said that Google kept a blog up and running on which he was accused of money laundering, among other things. Google has said it will appeal.

Ulrich Richter Morales stated that he was also associated with falsifying documents and influencing power through the blog. The lawyer himself says that he asked Google in 2015 to remove the anonymous blog.

He filed a complaint for “moral damage” and was vindicated.

The American tech company opposes the ruling, calling it “arbitrary, excessive and without any basis”. Google believes that the judgment is also undermining “freedom of expression and other fundamental principles.
