Honda Makes Sure Marquez Returns to the Track at the Le Mans MotoGP

– Repsol Honda rider Marc Marquez will return to action in MotoGP after recovering from a broken hand injury he suffered at Portimao earlier this season.

The six-time world champion has been absent from racing since fracturing a metacarpal in his right hand in a collision with RNF Aprilia’s Miguel Oliveira in the opening laps of the Portuguese Grand Prix in March.

Marquez also ensured that his injury was fully recovered before returning to racing to prevent further problems.

Honda revealed that Marquez had previously been examined by three separate medical teams to ensure that he was completely fit to return to racing. It is hoped that the Spaniard will be able to take part in the 1000th race of the Japanese manufacturer.

“I am very happy to be back with the Repsol Honda Team, to be riding my bike again,” said Marquez.

“First of all I want to thank my medical team for their professionalism and advice over the last few weeks.

Marquez said he was desperate to return to the track. But he realized the need to make sure about his condition so as not to cause new problems.

“Of course as a rider you always want to come back as soon as possible, but with an injury like this it’s very important to let it heal. Now I’m here and completely focused on racing, I’m not worried about this injury because it’s completely healed. Let’s see what happens what will happen at the French GP and most importantly, work as much as possible.”

Marquez will be able to fully focus on having a strong weekend in France which he has won three times in MotoGP.

He could return to racing after his appeal against the suspension penalty was accepted by the MotoGP court.
