TNI personnel from Central Sulawesi won the Kempo World Championship in Portugal

– TNI personnel from Southeast Sulawesi (Southeast Sulawesi), Sertu Dirhamsyah emerged as the world champion in kempo martial arts at the 19th IKF World Kempo Championships 2023 in Caldas De Rainha City, Portugal.

Babinsa, who served at the Kendari 1417 Kodim, won a landslide victory 4-0 over the Slovak athlete in the class final fighter Full Kempo on Saturday (29/4/2023) local time.

Dirhamsyah also managed to win a gold medal in the class knockdown -65 kilograms after defeating his opponent in the final. Not only that, Sertu Dirhamsyah also won two silver medals in the team synchronic word class and semi kempo.

Sertu Dirhamsyah is the only athlete sent by the Indonesian Kempo Federation (FKI) Southeast Sulawesi to strengthen the Indonesian national team to compete in the 19th kempo world championship.

Dirhamsyah said he was proud of the achievements he had made, because he had to go through a hard training camp for a month to defend his homeland.

“Alhamdulillah, I was able to make Indonesia and especially Southeast Sulawesi proud, it was not in vain that I left my military duties for one month,” said Dirhamsyah.

He also expressed his gratitude to the coaches at FKI Central and Southeast Sulawesi who had shaped him into an outstanding athlete.

Apart from that, he also thanked the Military Commander XIV Hasanuddin, Danrem 143 Haluoleo and Dandim 1417 Kendari, for giving permission to defend the Indonesian national team to Portugal.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of FKI Southeast Sulawesi, Nasruddin said, the achievement of 2 gold medals and 2 silver medals was a great pride.

“This is also the history of FKI Southeast Sulawesi, because there has never been an athlete winning 4 medals at the same time at the kempo world championships,” said Nasruddin.

Nasruddin hopes that this achievement can be contagious and motivate athletes at FKI Southeast Sulawesi, so that they practice hard so that they can take part in the following national and world championships.
