Indonesian National Team Knows Opponent in 2024 U-23 Asian Cup Semifinals, Winner Holds Ticket to Paris Olympics

The Indonesian national team made history at the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup. On their debut in the tournament, they immediately reached the semifinals by defeating the giants.

After a controversial loss to hosts Qatar in the opening match of Group A, Garuda Muda beat Australia and Jordan to secure a ticket to the quarter-finals. The U-23 national team then won 11-10 on penalties over South Korea to advance to the semifinals.

“I am very happy. However, to be honest, on the other hand, I also feel sad deep down (because I beat my own country),” said Indonesian coach Shin Tae-yong.

“But however, a winner must be determined and I, as the coach of the Indonesian National Team, will try to do my best.”

“I want to thank the players, the Indonesian football federation who were present, as well as the supporters who continued to stay up late to provide support to us,” he said.
