Injured National Team Players in Women’s U-19 AFF Cup Guaranteed Employment BPJS

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Two U-19 women’s national team (teamnas) players were injured in a collision with opposing players in the 2023 U-19 Women’s AFF Cup. Both, Marsela Yuliana Awi and Sheva Imut Furyzcha, who had to receive medical treatment at the hospital.

BPJS Employment emphasizes that both of them will receive maximum care in accordance with the BPJS Employment protection program. The Main Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Anggoro Eko Cahyo, stated that all national team players competing in the AFF Cup are protected for safety, both during training and matches.

“Both of them have received treatment, and we will make sure they get their rights to the fullest. The protection we provide is not only limited to treatment at the hospital, but also ensures players can return to the field in the best condition after being injured,” said Anggoro to the media, Thursday (20/7/2023).

In April 2023, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and PSSI collaborated and launched the Labor Social Security Protection Movement for the Indonesian Football Ecosystem. In the agreement signed by Anggoro Eko Cahyo and PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir, the protection program includes Work Accident Benefit (JKK) and Death Benefit (JKM) for sports players, associations, leagues, clubs, officials, players and football fans.

Head of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Office, Menara Jamsostek, Mohamad Irfan, welcomed the collaboration and stated BPJS’ commitment to providing employment social security protection for athletes.

Dr. Risky Dwi Rahayu, Sp KO, doctor for the U-19 women’s national team in the 2023 AFF match, explained that the two athletes were injured due to a hard impact on the chest, head and right cheek due to a head to head duel with an opposing player. They were referred to Siti Fatimah Az-Zahra Hospital for further treatment.

“All medical expenses are borne by BPJS Employment, because the U-19 national team athletes have been registered in the BPJS Employment protection program,” said Risky.
