Joint Tennis Lovers Depart Indonesian National Team to Kazakhstan

Jakarta, Todaysgist.com – There is something quite interesting and sad about the world of Indonesian tennis. The Indonesian Junior Tennis National Team (Timnas) is preparing to take part in the final round of qualifying for the Asia Oceania Billie Jean King Cup and Davis Cup Junior 2024 in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, 13-25 May 2024. Tennis fans are pooling together funds to send them to Kazakhstan.

National tennis fans, Rildo Ananda Anwar, Djan Faridz, and artist Raffi Ahmad finally jointly raised funds to finance the departure of the Indonesian National Junior Tennis Team to take part in two international championships.

“This is a contribution from figures who care about the progress of Indonesian tennis achievements, namely Djan Faridz, Reda Manthovani and Raffi Ahmad. “The total amount is IDR 260 million for tickets and accommodation as well as pocket money for players and coaches and match apparel,” said General Chairperson of PP Pelti for the 2017-2022 period Rildo Ananda Anwar in Jakarta, Sunday (5/5/2024).

Assistance was received by former national tennis player, Tintus Arianto Wibowo with the Indonesian junior tennis national team. The women's team competing in the Billie Jean King Junior Cup consisted of Mischka Sinclaire Goenadi, Ressjalina Nur Afifah, and Naomi Gracelyn Tio.

The men's team appearing in the Junior Davis Cup is Joachim Mika Gunawan, Alfaradu Sumirat, and Mouressi Muqorib.

“Happy competition, good luck and always be proud to be part of the Red and White team,” said Rildo.

Before leaving for Shymkent, Kazakhstan, the best men's and women's tennis players in the Red and White age group, 16 years old, said goodbye to the Indonesian Tennis Care Community in Jakarta.

“Thank you for your support so that we can finally go to Kazakhstan, to defend Indonesia in the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Junior this year,” said one of the national team squad, Joachim Mika.

Rildo said that initially one of the tennis players who passed the selection for the national team contacted him because he was unable to independently finance his departure to the international event.

“This condition is quite worrying, because those who will defend the Red and White team have to spend their own money,” said Rildo, representing the Indonesian Tennis Care Community and who once led the 2017-2022 PP Pelti.

He was moved to gather his friends to raise funds for the departure and collected Rp. 260 million from Djan Faridz, Reda Manthovani, and Raffi Ahmad.

Djan Faridz is a businessman who is also a member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantipres) and Minister of Public Housing 2011-2014. Meanwhile, Reda Manthovani is the Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence who is also Chief of Mission Indonesia (CdM) at the 2024 Paris Paralympics and Raffi Ahmad is an artist. All three are big fans of tennis.

“The point is that I feel sad and concerned, if junior tennis players are hampered, they cannot go to an important event like this. However, we have to care about the development of juniors because it will be the future of this sport,” said Raffi, who has been Muhammad Rifqi Fitriadi's foster father for the past two years. , Indonesia's best male tennis player at the moment.
