Jordi Alba Follows in the Footsteps of Messi and Busquets, Inter Miami Has a Thick Smell of Barcelona

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Inter Miami is getting thicker with the scent of Barcelona. After the arrival of Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets, the team that competed in Major League Soccer (MLS) also recruited Jordi Alba.

Like Messi and Busquets, Alba is also a former Barcelona player. He left the Blaugrana in May after strengthening the team from Catalonia since 2012.

The official Inter Miami Instagram account has officially announced Alba’s arrival. The player, who is now 34 years old, is contracted until 2024 with an option to extend until 2025.

“We have signed Spanish defender Jordi Alba until the 2024 season,” wrote Inter Miami.

Alba’s presence certainly provides fresh air for Lionel Messi, who arrived in Miami first. Because both of them at least know each other’s game, like Sergio Busquetrs.

As is known, Alba has also experienced the golden years of Barcelona with Messi.

During his time at Barca, Alba has won six La Liga titles. In addition, the former Valencia player also helped lift the Champions League trophy with Barca in 2015.

In the Spanish national team, Jordi Alba also had a fairly vital role. At least, he has appeared 93 times and helped lead the Matador team to win the championship trophy at the 2012 European Cup.

“Jordi is an accomplished, dynamic and experienced player and we are delighted to have him onboard to strengthen the team going forward,” said Inter Miami technical director Chris Henderson.

“For a decade he has proven to be one of the best fullbacks in the sport based on his defensive abilities and his capacity to assist in attack,” Henderson said.
