Wimbledon 2023 Final Results: Defeated by Carlos Alcaraz, Djokovic Signals Retirement

– Tennis player Novak Djokovic does not know how long he will continue to play after losing to Carlos Alcaraz in the 2023 Wimbledon final, Monday (17/7/2023). He did not dismiss the notion that his defeat by Carlos Alcaraz could be the start of his rivalry with the Spaniard.

“I hope so. He will be on tour for some time. I don’t know how long I will be here,” said Djokovic.

In the 2023 Wimbledon final, Djokovic enters the match as a strong favorite having not lost on Center Court for 10 years. However, Carlos Alcaraz was able to break his domination and toughness.

In a five-set match, Djokovic, as the holder of 23 grand slam titles, had to acknowledge Alcaraz’s prowess.

The Serbian tennis player was even seen losing control several times and had spilled his frustration by hitting his racket. His emotional outburst damaged the net post so he received a warning from the referee and was booed by the audience.

“It was frustration. I had a break point in the second game. Yeah, just some hard, tough points. He (Alcaraz) played amazingly to break my serve and that was enough to win the fifth set,” he said.
