Korea Open 2023 Results: Struggle to Face the Host’s Champion, Fajar/Rian Qualify for the Final

Todaysgist.com, Jakarta – Men’s doubles Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto have to work hard to reach the top match of the Korea Open 2023. They must go through a 74-minute match before defeating the mainstay of the hosts Kang Min-hyuk/Seo Seung-jae 17-21, 21-16, 21-18 in the semifinals, Saturday (22/7/2023).

Fajar/Rian next faced Indian representatives Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty in the fight for the 2023 Korea Open title. Rankireddy/Shetty qualified for the finals after defeating the Chinese pair Liang Wei Keng/Wang Chang 21-15, 24-22.

Match Path

Fajar/Rian got hot late at the start of the match, trailing 1-6. However, the world number one was able to catch up and took a 12-10 lead.

Unfortunately they failed to keep the momentum. Kang/Seo got up using the support of their own fans. The two pairs were involved in a fierce duel to 14-14. Kang/Seo then raced 19-15 before finally securing the opening game.

Fajar/Rian tried to get up in the second game. They were able to shoot and in a comfortable position with a score of 5-1 to 10-5.

However, Kang/Seo cut the deficit to 10-11. After that Fajar/Rian failed to get away with Kang/Seo trying to end the match. Luckily Fajar/Rian kept their composure and succeeded in forcing rubber.
