Conquering Pelita Jaya, Prawira Bandung Wins IBL 2023

Bandung, Beritasatu.com – Prawira Harum Bandung successfully won the 2023 Indonesia Basketball League (IBL) after defeating Pelita Jaya Bakrie Jakarta 63-58 in the second final at GOR C-TRA Arena, Saturday (22/7/2023) evening WIB.

This is the first IBL title for the Bandung team in 25 years. The last time the Bandung team won was Garuda Bandung in 1998.

The victory was not easily achieved by Prawira Bandung. After trailing 2-9, Prawira closed the first quarter trailing 13-17.

Pelita Jaya’s pressure continued in the second quarter. Prawira continues to fall behind 17-22. But after that they slowly got up and improved their shooting accuracy. Finally, after a long time behind, Prawira turned ahead 25-23. Prawira’s performance, which was played with great support from the audience, was more confident.

Having fallen behind 25-26 after Prastwa made three points, Prawira through Jarred Shaw appeared crazy by winning 32-26.

Prawira closed the first half with a 34-31 advantage.

In the third quarter, Prawira immediately stepped on the gas by winning 46-37 with three minutes remaining. But Pelita never gave up and was able to close the distance to three points, 43-46.

Prawira was able to get away again through Yudha’s free throw and Abraham’s three points to close the third quarter with 50-43.

Prawira’s advantage continued in the fourth quarter. With two minutes and 30 seconds left, Yudha made three points to make the score 59-52. Yudha contributed three additional points to make the score 62-55. Lamp replied late three point David Sutton so the score is 58-62.

One free throw from Yudha sealed Prawira Bandung’s 63-58 victory.
