Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The score in the group C preliminary round of the Uber Cup between Indonesia and Japan was a 1-1 draw after the Red and White doubles Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti surrendered to Nami Matsuyama/Chiharu Shida, Wednesday (1/5/2024).

Playing in Chengdu, China, the Lanny/Fadia pair surrendered with numbers 9-21, 22-20 and 16-21. They gave up after fighting for 1 hour and 12 minutes.

“Sorry, we haven't managed to contribute points to Indonesia. In the first game we were surprised by their playing pattern. “Apart from that, we are just a couple, in practice, Sis Fadia and I are often partners, but the atmosphere in the match is different,” said Lanny.

According to Lanny, in the second game the coach gave instructions to him and Fadia to enjoy playing first. They are forced to face opponents who play at a fast tempo and that must be guarded against. In the second set, Lanny and Fadia managed to find the right pattern. But in the third game, they did the same thing, but the opponent was better prepared. During the interval, Lanny/Fadia were quite far behind in points, so they had difficulty catching up.

“Earlier, at several moments there was still miscommunication between us. “Habits are different for each partner,” said Lanny.

Meanwhile, Fadia felt that overall they had played well. According to him, he and Lanny played bravely and were more reckless, and did their best.

“Earlier, when we entered the field, with Gregoria's advantage, our motivation actually increased so that the impact on the field was that we could play freely and enjoy ourselves,” explained Fadia again.

In the first match, Indonesia was able to take the lead after Gregoria Mariska Tunjung's singles beat her old enemy and former world number one women's singles Akane Yamaguchi, Jorji, Gregoria's nickname, won with a score of 17-21, 21-17 and 21-13. Jorji won after 53 minutes of fighting.

In the third match, a singles match was held between Indonesian representative Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo and Japanese representative Aya Ohori. I did Ester once and won. The match took place in the Uber Cup in 2021. At that time Ester gave up 14-21 and 7-21.
