League 1: Pato Two Goals, Borneo FC Conquers Bali United

– Borneo FC managed to beat Bali United 3-1 at Segiri Samarinda Stadium, East Kalimantan, Saturday night in the continuation of League 1 season 2023/2024.

Matheus Pato became the winning hero for the Pesut Etam team with two goals in the 56th and 67th minutes. Another goal was scored by Terens Puhiri in the 60th minute.

Laskar Tridatu’s only goal came from striker Marie Privat Befolo Mbarga in the 48th minute.

In the match that was witnessed by thousands of Kalimantan fans, Borneo FC and Bali United performed well and tried to create several scoring opportunities. The match was quite hot from the start of the first half and players from both teams were known to have committed 20 fouls.

The referee gave three yellow cards to both Borneo FC players Stefano Lilipaly and Terens Puhiri and one card to Bali United player M Rahmadi.

Laskar Tridatu opened the scoring through Befolo Mbarga’s goal after receiving feedback from Ardi Idrus in the 48th minute. Bali United’s advantage only lasted eight minutes after Borneo FC scored through Matheus Pato’s goal from the penalty spot in the 56th minute.

Just four minutes later, Borneo FC turned things around and won 2-1 thanks to Terens Puhiri’s goal. Pato increased Borneo FC’s advantage through the second goal he scored in the 67th minute.

This result is Borneo FC’s first win in League 1 this season. Previously, Peiter Hustra’s team was only able to draw 1-1 away against Persik Kediri.

These three additional points brought Borneo FC to fifth place in the Liga 1 standings with four points.

Meanwhile, the defeat at Borneo FC also gave a series of bad results for Stefano Cugura’s men who previously lost 0-1 to PSS Sleman in the previous match.
