Left behind by 1 point from Francesco Bagnaia, Marco Bezzecchi Comments on Opportunities for the 2023 MotoGP World Champion

The Spanish MotoGP left a poignant story for several racers who failed to finish, including Valentino Rossi’s student who is also a Mooney VR46 Ducati racer, Marco Bezzecchi. He lost top position after failing to finish in the Spanish MotoGP at the Jerez circuit last weekend.

Marco Bezzecchi has previously led the MotoGP standings since Argentina. He was 11 points ahead of Francesco Bagnia but now he is 22 points behind Bagnaia.

Rossi’s student crashed at turn six. He believes it was a poor qualifying result that cost him top spot.

Throughout last weekend’s race, the signs of Bezzechi’s bad luck were already visible. He was twice rammed by other racers in the sprint and main race.

First he was rammed by Alex Marquez after he was involved in a collision with Franco Morbidelli. The second occurred in Sunday’s race when he was rammed by Oliveira who was rammed by Fabio Quartararo which resulted in the steward raising a red flag.
