List of Countries Holding the Most Crypto, Who Are They?

Liputan6.com, Jakarta The latest data from Arkham Intelligence reveals several governments holding the most crypto in the world. This latest data was shared by Arkham via social media X.

Reporting from Yahoo Finance, Thursday (18/4/2024), the United States, England and Germany are among the top countries holding cryptocurrencies at the government level.

The analytics firm's data shows the US government as the top crypto holder, having holdings exceeding 212,847 Bitcoins in addition to several other cryptocurrencies, including ether (ETH).

Behind him is the British government with 61,245 BTC and the German government with 49,859 BTC. Meanwhile, Arkham data shows 5,719 BTC for El Salvador.

Despite recent US government crypto activity earlier this month, US government BTC has not moved since July 2021 and the last transaction in Germany occurred in January this year, according to Arkham data.

Sustainable Purchasing

El Salvador stands out with its sustainable purchasing strategy, adding one BTC to the country's coffers every day. Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele confirmed in March his country would continue buying one bitcoin every day until BTC “becomes unaffordable” with fiat currencies.
