The Iran-Israel Conflict Does Not Have a Negative Impact on the Commodity Futures Exchange

“The transaction record in Q1 2024 is certainly an encouraging thing regarding the commodity futures trading industry. This is because the national political agenda, namely elections, does not have a negative impact. “Seeing this situation, we are optimistic that after the election market conditions will get better, which of course will be in line with transactions that continue to increase,” said ICDX Main Director, Nursalam in an official statement in Jakarta, quoted Wednesday (3/4/2024).

2 Contracts

ICDX noted that there were 2 contracts that dominated, namely the gold commodity with 290,290 lots and Forex with 1,259,411 lots.

For the record, both the first quarter of 2023 and the first quarter of 2024 have the same number of trading days, namely 64 days.

An increase also occurred in terms of Notional Value, from Rp. 4,390 trillion in the first quarter of 2023, to IDR 5,989 trillion in the first quarter of 2024, or an increase of 36.39%.

“For Q2 until the end of 2024, we project that transactions will continue to grow positively. ICDX itself has prepared various strategic steps, both related to improving services to exchange members and educating the public. “Regarding transaction volume, we project that by the end of 2024 it will reach above 13 million lots,” he said.
