Meta and Microsoft Collaborate to Make Xbox VR Headset

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Microsoft is known to have collaborated with Meta to present a VR headset. However, it is said that this VR headset is not entirely a direct result of collaboration between the two companies.

Quoting information from The Verge, Tuesday (23/4/2024), this headset is actually a VR Meta Quest headset which is said to be inspired by the Xbox. It was also explained that this VR headset will be available as a limited edition.

“We are working with Microsoft again to produce a limited edition Meta Quest, inspired by the Xbox,” Meta wrote in a statement.

Even though it has been announced, not much information about this headset has been revealed. There is a possibility that this headset is Meta Quest 3 with a wrap skins specifically and will be bundled with an Xbox controller.

In a post on Instagram, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also said that the newly revealed VR headset will be equipped with an Xbox controller and Game Pass.

“So you can start playing right away on the big screen, wherever you go,” he wrote in a post on Instagram. Along with this announcement, Meta also revealed that they had opened access to their VR operating system to third parties.

Named Meta Horizon OS, Mark said, there are several companies that have committed to developing VR headsets with this operating system. Mark said, so far, Asus and Lenovo are known to be the two companies that will use this operating system.
