Ministry of Communication and Information Collaborates with Microsoft, Encourages National Digital Transformation

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – The Ministry of Communication and Information (Communications and Information) announced that it has collaborated with Microsoft Indonesia. This collaboration was carried out to increase the Synergy for Strengthening the Implementation of Information Technology and Digital Transformation in the Government Sector.

Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and the private sector in realizing national digital transformation. This collaboration marked the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Communication and Information and Microsoft.

“The Indonesian government believes in collaboration multistakeholder “is really needed, including through cooperation between the government and the private sector,” said the Minister of Communication and Information in a press release received, Thursday (14/3/2024).

Budi Arie further said that the government-private cooperation model would enable collaboration of expertise, resources and the latest technological innovations in implementing policies in the digital sector.

“Apart from that, industry players also get the opportunity to open new businesses, increase market access and expand the range of services,” he said.

The Minister of Communication and Information believes that a reciprocal relationship between the government and industry players can encourage digital policy space to accommodate the pace of innovation, economic growth and benefits for all parties.

Budi Arie also appreciated Microsoft Indonesia for showing a commitment to collaboration to support digital transformation, as well as encouraging knowledge transfer through collaboration.

Regarding this collaboration, President Director of Microsoft Indonesia Dharma hopes that it can trigger new innovations. Therefore, he hopes that this collaboration can create a real impact on society.

“We hope that our steps today in signing the memorandum of understanding can be a trigger, can trigger new innovations,” he said.

This collaboration between the Ministry of Communication and Information and Microsoft includes developing human resources in the digital sector, strengthening infrastructure and digitalizing the government.

Apart from that, this collaboration also discusses strengthening responsible governance of artificial intelligence, strengthening the implementation and practice of personal data protection, as well as other areas.
