Apple Testing iOS 17.4.1, Will It Be Released This Week?
According to compliance documents released by Apple, iPhone users in Europe can remove the Safari browser application before the end of 2024.
Quoting Gizchina, Monday (11/3/2023), Apple will introduce an option for iPhone users in the European Union to give them more control over the software on their iPhone.
In the document, it is written:
App removal for users in the European Union
Currently, Apple users have the ability to remove preinstalled apps from the Home Screen on iOS. Apple also plans to let users remove Safari from iOS, if they want. Apple plans to make this possible by the end of 2024.
Apple did not mention the restricted areas in the log document. However, considering all the changes Apple has made recently due to DMA, it is expected that the above adjustments will only be limited to Europe.
In response to the EU's DMA requirements, Apple confirmed that it is developing a user-friendly solution, which will allow iPhone users to easily transfer data to Android. This is targeted for completion in the fall of 2025.
