Ministry of Youth and Sports Ensures Red Sparks Appears Full Team Against Indonesian All Stars

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) confirmed that the South Korean volleyball club, Red Sparks, will field its best players in the exhibition match against the Indonesian All Stars, Saturday (20/4/2024).

Acting (Plt) Director of the Sports Fund and Business Management Institute (LPDUK) of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ferdinand Kamariki Tangkudung, assessed that the presence of Red Sparks would be a new momentum to spur the development of volleyball in Indonesia.

“Red Sparks will present their full team against Indonesia All-Star, a match that is certainly highly anticipated on the 20th. We hope that this can be a new beginning for Indonesian volleyball and mark the revival of Indonesian volleyball,” said Ferdinand in his statement, Wednesday (17 /4/2024).

He added that the friendly match with the theme “Fun Volley Ball” which will be held at the Indonesia Arena is expected to provide an interesting and entertaining match for the audience, especially volleyball fans.

Red Sparks came to Indonesia with a group of 42 people consisting of players, officials, coaches, management team and internal club media. The Red Sparks club will present their best squad, which will be strengthened by Indonesian player, Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi. It is known that the Indonesian national volleyball player nicknamed Megatron has been playing for the South Korean club since last season.

Megawati's presence in the Red Sparks squad also increased the club's popularity, not only in South Korea, but also in Indonesia. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of Red Sparks fans who are waiting for the club's arrival at the overseas arrivals terminal at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tuesday (16/4/2024) evening.

Fans seemed enthusiastic about capturing moments with players, such as Yeum Hye-seon and her colleagues. The Red Sparks group also gave a warm welcome to the fans with introductory greetings.
