Kim Kardashian – According to museum Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Kim Kardashian did not damage marilyn monroe’s dress she wore during the Met Gala. That let the museum, which the world-famous dress exhibits, Thursday know in a statement.
A collector of Monroe items posted a number of photos on social media on Tuesday that would show that the dress was badly damaged. Ripley’s states that Kardashian “has not damaged the garment in any way in the short time it was worn at the Met Gala.”
A staff member of the museum brought the dress from the U.S. state of Florida to New York. She stayed with Kardashian when she made her entrance at the prestigious fashion event. The employee says in the statement that “nothing happened to the dress between the moment at the bottom of the stairs when Kim put it on and at the top of the stairs, where the dress was returned”.
In addition, the museum denies that the reality star paid to wear the dress. Nor was she paid for it herself. Kardashian did make a donation on behalf of the museum to two charities.
The dress will be on display again and can be seen at Ripley’s until the autumn.
The garment is world famous because Marilyn Monroe wore it during her legendary performance of Happy Birthday for U.S. President John F. Kennedy in 1962. Monroe sang her sultry version of the song for Kennedy’s 45th birthday at a political benefit night in New York.
It was one of the last public appearances of the actress, who died a few months later at the age of 36. ‘JFK’ was shot dead the following year in the American city of Dallas.
