Musk whips it – New Twitter owner Elon Musk is going to increase the pressure on the social medium’s remaining staff even further. The billionaire expects staff to work “long days at high intensity”. Employees who do not promise this will be fired.

Twitter employees must let us know before Thursday afternoon if they are willing to work harder. Musk sent an email to staff about this around midnight local time, The Washington Post reports .

“If you’re sure you want to be a part of the new Twitter, click yes on the link below,” Musk said in the email. “Twitter will have to be extremely hardcore. Only exceptional performance will get a pass.”

Employees who do not agree must leave and receive a severance payment of three months. In addition, staff who contradict their new boss are also fired, reports The New York Times .

This new announcement from Musk could lead to further staff turnover. Since his takeover late last month, the billionaire has already laid off half of Twitter’s staff .

Musk causes chaos within Twitter

Musk’s first period at Twitter is turbulent. For example , the introduction of the new Twitter Blue subscription service was chaotic . Paying users get a blue check mark. Until recently, that was reserved for users that Twitter was sure it was them.

After its introduction, many people took advantage of the blue tick by changing their name to resemble that of a company or celebrity. After a few days , Twitter closed registrations for Twitter Blue.
