Newcastle is not afraid to face Manchester City

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Newcastle United coach, Eddie Howe, said his team was not afraid to face defending champions Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester, Saturday (17/3/2024) evening local time.

Howe emphasized that Newcastle must put pressure on Manchester City to qualify for the next round.

“We have to get our game plan right, execute it at the highest level, and maybe also need a little luck. We will go there in a positive mood and give our best,” said Eddie Howe.

The English coach believes Kieran Trippier et al can stop City.

This match will be the fourth meeting between the two teams this season. Newcastle won once, while City won twice.

The former Bournemouth coach admitted that he had studied the game of City, coached by Pep Guardiola.

“I've watched all the recent (City) games in depth, which is always a really interesting thing because you understand how good the games are when you watch them forensically,” he said.

According to Howe, City's way of playing is very unique. “They have the best manager ever and elite players,” he said.
