Surabaya, Beritasatu.com – The main goalkeeper for the Indonesian U-23 National Team, Ernando Ari Sutaryadi, was one of the players highlighted when Garuda Muda successfully eliminated South Korea in the quarter-finals of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup. When he became a hero by saving Lee Kang-hee's final penalty, The goalkeeper from the Persebaya Surabaya club was dancing as if teasing and annoying the Korean players.

Apparently, Ernando is known as a humorous person who likes to joke. This opinion was conveyed by his teammate at Persebaya Surabaya, Oktafianus Fernando, who said that Ernando had a great sense of humor and was easy to accept input from his colleagues.

Ernando Ari, who was the best player in the match or man of the match Indonesia vs Korea, performed well even though he conceded twice in normal time. Ernando has also apologized for the celebration which was considered excessive.

This celebration was inspired by Ernando's idol, Emiliano Martinez, the Argentine national team goalkeeper who also took part in the action odd in the 2022 World Cup final. Ernando also played with Martinez when the Indonesian national team played against Argentina in June 2023.

“Ernando really likes to joke and has a great sense of humor. We, his teammates at Persebaya Surabaya, were not surprised by Ernando's celebration, because his character is hilarious,” said Oktafianus Fernando.

Oktafianus also added that Ernando easily accepts input from his colleagues and often provides input to improve the team's play.

“At the age of 22, Ernando can continue to improve his abilities. Hopefully the experience he has gained with the Indonesian National Team can be shared with his colleagues at Persebaya,” said Oktafianus, who is also the older brother of Ernando's teammate in the U-23 Indonesian National Team, Marselinus Ferdinand.

The Indonesian U-23 national team will play in the U-23 Asian Cup semifinal match against Uzbekistan, U-23, Monday (29/4/2024). Oktafianus hopes that Garuda Muda can win the match and take Indonesia to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
