Scores a hat trick in Jerez, Francesco Bagnaia enjoys overtaking with Marc Marquez

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The 2022 and 2023 MotoGP world champion from the Ducati Lenovo team, Francesco Bagnaia, successfully recorded a hat trick by winning three consecutive main race wins at the Jerez Circuit, Spain in the 2024 MotoGP continuation, Sunday (28/4/2024).

Bagnaia, who started the 2024 Spanish MotoGP race from P7, managed to finish in pole position after completing 25 laps of the race. In the race, Bagnaia was involved in a fierce duel with Gresini Racing racer, Marc Marquez.

On the 21st lap, Marquez managed to overtake Bagnaia at turn nine, but Bagnaia quickly responded and managed to regain the lead of the race.

Even though Marquez tried to catch up, Bagnaia managed to maintain his position. He even set the fastest lap record in the last three laps, ensuring an absolute victory.

“I really enjoyed the moment of overtaking from the outside. The race was really decided in the last five laps when Marquez approached. I just waited and responded well to his attack. I tried to keep the distance to the finish line,” said Bagnaia, quoted from the official Ducati Corse website , Monday (29/4/2024).

“Being able to record the fastest lap at the end is the result of the team's hard work, and I am very grateful that everything went smoothly,” he added.

This victory returned him to championship competition after experiencing difficulties in the previous two MotoGP series in Portimao and Austin.

“The third win in a row here is really special for me. A win like this is very necessary, not only for me but also for the whole team and everyone I work with,” said Bagnaia.

By gaining 25 additional points, Bagnaia is now in second place in the standings with 75 points, 17 points adrift of Jorge Martin who led the standings but failed to finish in Jerez due to an accident.
