Sony has not provided any clarity regarding the successor console to the PlayStation 5. However, leaks regarding Sony's newest console have circulated widely.

Quoting Android Headlines, Wednesday (12/3/2024) Sony trusts AMD to supply Ryzen APUs for the upcoming game console, namely the PlayStation 6.

Ryzen APUs from AMD are said to be able to offer immersive processing performance and powerful graphics capabilities so that devices equipped with Ryzen APUs are claimed to be able to run various types of games.

This is not the first time Sony has trusted AMD APUs in PlayStation development.

Since 2013, Sony has used AMD APUs to be embedded in the PlayStation 4. In 2020, Sony also trusted AMD to supply AMD APU chips in the Playstation 5 console.

And it seems that Sony is quite satisfied with the performance of AMD's APU in its console games. In fact, Sony is said to only be considering AMD chips, not chipsets from other brands.
