Apple Claims the iPhone 15 Battery Now Has 2 Times Better Life

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Apple has updated the battery life of the iPhone 15. However, not by providing a new battery or through software updatesbut instead updates the page battery and performance support.

Apple said that although the iPhone 14 and older models are designed to maintain 80 percent of their original capacity at 500 full charge cycles under ideal conditions, the conditions are different for the iPhone 15.

According to Apple, the iPhone 15 is designed to retain 80 percent of its original capacity at 1,000 full charge cycles under ideal conditions, as quoted from ZDNETSaturday, (24/2/2024).

The update regarding the lifespan of iPhone batteries was released at the same time as European Union regulations which will determine the energy level of cellphone batteries.

Previously, support documents on line Apple says the iPhone battery is able to maintain 80 percent of its full battery charge after 500 cycles. However, that changes on the iPhone 15.

After retesting battery health in the newest iPhone line in 2023, the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max are said to be able to maintain 80 percent capacity after at least 1,000 cycles.

“When you use your iPhone, the battery goes through a charge cycle. You complete a charge cycle when you have used an amount that represents 100 percent of your battery capacity.”

Apple added, “full charge cycles are normalized to between 80 percent and 100 percent of original capacity to account for the expected reduction in battery capacity over time.”
