Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Nathan Tjoe-A-On is one step closer to strengthening the Indonesian national team after taking the oath to become an Indonesian citizen (WNI) at the DKI Jakarta Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Monday (11/3/2024) evening.

Nathan Tjoe-A-On, a football player born in Rotterdam, Netherlands, December 22 2001, has undergone the process of obtaining a passport and KTP as an Indonesian citizen.

Thus, Nathan Tjoe-A-On is one step closer to strengthening the Indonesian national team by changing football federations.

Nathan Tjoe-A-On's wait to become an Indonesian citizen was finally realized after his oath process to become an Indonesian citizen which was originally scheduled for December 28 with Jay Idzes was postponed because he was unable to attend.

“Last night, Nathan Tjoe-A-On officially became an Indonesian citizen after taking the oath. “Today Nathan has also been processed to get a passport and KTP as an Indonesian citizen,” said General Chair of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) Erick Thohir via his Instagram account, Tuesday (12/3/2024).

According to Erick, there is one more step that Nathan Tjoe-A-On must take, namely arranging a federation transfer to be able to defend the Indonesian national team. “Thank you for the support of all institutions that helped the process run well,” added Erick.

After completing the federation transfer process, Nathan Tjoe-A-On will immediately defend Garuda, which will soon play twice against Vietnam in the second round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the Asian zone.

The two matches were held on March 21 at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta and on March 26 at My Dinh Stadium, Hanoi, Vietnam.

Nathan Tjoe-A-On has been included in the 28 squad names called by Indonesian coach Shin Tae-yong against The Golden Stars.

“God willing, Nathan can strengthen Indonesia against Vietnam on March 21. “Together we will take Garuda global,” concluded Erick Thohir.
