Unibet gets license to offer games of chance – Kindred Group, the parent company of Unibet, received an online gambling license from the Dutch Gaming Authority (Ksa) on Wednesday. The Swedish company will offer commercial games of chance and sports betting.

In the coming days, the site will be launched Unibet.nl. The company says it wants to become a “reliable gambling provider” on the Dutch market. It is intended that the emphasis is also placed on responsible gambling.

There is a lot to do about the latter. For example, the journalistic research platform Pointer recently found that gambling websites such as TOTO, Kansino and BetCity seriously lack their legal gambling protection.

Consumers have been allowed to legally gamble online on websites since 1 October last year. In return, gambling companies must prevent addiction, for example by keeping an eye on how often and how much money someone deposits.

According to Pointer, the Dutch can easily lose tens of thousands of euros per month, also on government gambling sites.
