PB Djarum General Audition 2023: The Search for Talented Female Athletes

– The PB Djarum Female Athlete Talent Search Team, led by Ellen Angelina, hopes to find female badminton players who match the targeted criteria in the 2023 PB Djarum General Audition series. A total of 457 young badminton players, consisting of 156 girls and 301 boys, are fighting for won the match and advanced to the next round.

“In this phase, the participants’ abilities are more prominent and perform optimally in the field compared to the previous two screening stages,” said Ellen Angelina online on Tuesday (4/7/2023).

The 2001 Indonesia Open champion in the women’s singles sector revealed that in this phase of the tournament, the potential of athletes is more visible. The Talent Search Team also consists of PB Djarum coaches and badminton legends, including Hastomo Arbi, Yuni Kartika, Engga Setiawan, Rudy Gunawan Haditono, Maria Elfira Christina, to Denny Setyawan.

During the tournament round which lasts until Thursday (6/7), the Talent Scout Team will continue to monitor the participants, providing opportunities for athletes with qualified quality to get Super Tickets and advance to the quarantine stage, even though they lose in the knockout phase.

One of the female athletes who stole the attention was Vanezya Artha Nafasta. The U-11 female participant from the Special Badminton Club from Yogyakarta managed to defeat Adelia Khansa Rafani from Karawang, West Java. Mental advantage and footwork made him win two games 21-6, 21-4. He admits that he received support from his parents to fulfill his dream as an athlete.

In the U-13 age group, the name that stands out is Cheren Ireyne Wiwen Pudi. The athlete from South Minahasa, North Sulawesi, who is confident with her hard smashes, made her appear full of energy when she defeated Devika Karima Sakti from Magetan, East Java in a three-game battle 18-21, 21-14, 21-11.
