Persebaya Still Strengthened by Bruno Moreira When Visiting Semarang

– Persebaya Surabaya coach, Aji Santoso, decided to continue to include his foreign player, Bruno Moreira, in their match at home to PSIS Semarang, in the continuation of League 1, Friday (14/7/2023).

“I’ve communicated with Bruno. Even though he just underwent an acupuncture procedure and still feels a little pain, his condition has improved. So, he will still go to Semarang,” said the coach from Malang after leading a training session at Thor’s Field in Surabaya, Thursday (13/7/2023).

In the last training session in Surabaya, Aji Santoso tried to keep his players in optimal physical condition.

“This is the last training in Surabaya, we have increased the intensity a little so that the players’ conditions do not decrease or at least remain stable, they can even improve,” he said.

Apart from that, he also gave direction to the players of Bajul Ijo–Persebaya’s nickname–so that they are able to anticipate the game of the attackers from the Laskar Mahesa Jenar team.

“I have prepared them so they can anticipate attacks from opposing attackers,” he said.

On the trip to Semarang, Aji Santoso will take 22 players with him, though only 21 will be registered for the match.

“I always take 22 players with me on tours out of town, but only 21 players will be registered. This is because during the official training session in the morning, I definitely give a game simulation,” said the licensed UEFA Pro coach.

Meanwhile, Kadek Raditya, a Persebaya defender, expressed his readiness to face the team from the capital city of Central Java.

“We have prepared physically and have adapted to hot weather and received special training materials to face PSIS Semarang from the coach,” he said.

Apart from that, he has also received information on how to play the attackers from the club based at Jatidiri Stadium, Semarang.

“We are aware of all the players, but since I am a centre-back I will focus on the attackers, although I do not rule out keeping an eye on other players,” he said.

Based on the official PT LIB portal, the two teams have met nine times since 2017, with Persebaya winning five wins, PSIS winning two, and the rest ending in draws.
