AJC 2023, Mutiara Ensures Indonesia’s Victory over Vietnam
– Mutiara Ayu Puspitasari ensured Indonesia’s victory over Vietnam at the 2023 Asian Junior Badminton Championships (Badminton Asia Junior Championships/AJC) at Amongraga Sports Hall, Yogyakarta, Saturday (8/7/2023).
Mutiara managed to lead Indonesia to a 3-0 lead and beat Vietnam after winning a three-game match with a score of 21-15, 16-21, 21-5 against Ngoc Van Le.
In the first game, Mutiara managed to control the game and won it with a score of 21-15. However, in the second game, he was unable to maintain his dominance and surrendered 16-21.
Mutiara was forced to play the third game after losing the second game with a score of 16-21. However, in the decider game, he bounced back and did not repeat his previous mistakes. He managed to finish the third game with a score of 21-5. Mutiara managed to beat Vietnam’s representatives in 42 minutes.
“In the first game, I was able to adapt to court conditions. However, when I changed sides, I started to lose wind and the Vietnamese players put more pressure on me,” said Mutiara.
“I was lucky to win in the deciding game because I already know the habits of my opponent and can anticipate them,” said Mutiara.
The victory against Ngoc made Mutiara, who is currently ranked 107th in the world, find confidence. Despite having to play the third game, Mutiara hopes to improve her performance and be even better.
“I am happy and relieved to win in this match. This result helps me get to know the condition of the court and I hope to play better in the next match,” added Mutiara, the winner of the 2022 Indonesia International Series in Yogyakarta.

With careful preparation, Mutiara has great determination to win the title in front of the Yogyakarta public. He once did the same thing when he appeared in the 2022 Indonesia International Series.
In the final of the tournament, Mutiara defeated her compatriot, Stephanie Widjaja, with a score of 15-21, 21-10, 22-20.
With this result, Indonesia managed to ensure victory over Vietnam with a score of 3-0 in the first match of the 2023 AJC mixed team championship.
In that match, mixed doubles Adrian Pratama/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu managed to give Indonesia its first point.
Adrian/Felisha gave Indonesia a 1-0 lead over Vietnam after defeating the Vietnamese pair, Van Truong Pham/Bich Phuong Bui in two straight games with a score of 21-15, 21-12.
Alwi Farhan, Indonesian men’s singles, then doubled the team’s lead with a score of 2-0 after defeating Vietnam’s Quoc Khanh Tran in two straight games with a score of 21-14, 21-17.
