Rawly Rejects Marc Marquez, KTM Boss: His Racing Style Doesn’t Match

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – KTM boss Stefan Pierer has denied speculation that Honda rider Marc Marquez will join the KTM MotoGP team. According to Pierer, Marquez’s driving style is no longer suitable for the current MotoGP race.

“Do you know how many times he’s been offered to us in the last few months? It’s the same situation,” Pierer said in an interview with Speedweek.

It is reported that Marc Marquez is no longer comfortable with Honda. This is due to the performance of the Japanese manufacturer, which has not improved. Until half of the 2023 MotoGP season, Marc Marquez had not even finished the main race.

He was left in 19th place in the standings with 15 points, 179 points adrift of the standings leader Francesco Bagnaia from Ducati. Not only that, this season Marquez also bears the King of Crash, where he has fallen from his motorbike 12 times so far this season.

Pierer said Marquez had contributed to his poor performance with Honda in recent years. The 8-time world champion has not won a race since winning the Italian GP on October 24 2021.

“He’s not completely free from mistakes. His riding style is not very suitable for motorbikes that have aerodynamics like today. That’s why he often falls,” said Pierer.

No doubt KTM, which has ambitions to become a champion, flatly refused to recruit the racer nicknamed The Baby Alien. Pierer is optimistic about the performance of their racing duo, Brad Binder and Jack Miller.

“We want to be world champions one day. But signing Marquez is not our way. We build our own racers, from Moto3 to Moto2,” he said.

“I also have faith in Brad Binder and Jack Miller, who fought for the Moto3 title with us in 2014 and are now back,” he added.
