Score Beautiful Goals in Debut at Inter Miami, This Says Lionel Messi

Florida, Beritasatu.com – Lionel Messi made his Inter Miami debut in style. The Argentine player scored a spectacular goal via a free kick in the 94th minute which ensured Inter Miami won 2-1 over Mexican club, Cruz Azul, Saturday (22/7/2023).

Messi’s left-footed shot curled past four fences at the end of the game before hitting goal Cruz Azul.

Messi realizes that the club and the crowd expect him to play well and score goals.

“What I saw was a goal. I saw the goal. I knew I had to score,” Messi said after the game.

The goal was greeted with fireworks fired into the sky. One minute after the beautiful goal, the referee blew the long whistle signaling the end of the match.

If the score is still tied at 1-1 until the game ends it will proceed to a penalty shootout. Messi doesn’t want that to happen.

“It was the end of the game and I wanted to score, so I didn’t go to penalties,” said Messi.

Meanwhile, Inter Miami coach Tata Martino said Messi’s beautiful goal was nothing new. The former PSG player has often practiced this beautiful kick throughout his career.

“This is a film we have seen before,” said Tata Martino.

In his debut match at the Major League Soccer club, Messi was greeted enthusiastically by the audience. Messi kindly responded to the audience’s greeting with a wave of his hand while sitting on the bench and warming up.

Several times the former Barcelona player also waved to the audience while playing.

Messi came on early in the second half as Inter Miami led 1-0. He hugged the player he was replacing, midfielder Benjamin Cremaschi, then ran onto the pitch as some 21,000 spectators appeared to their feet. Messi’s entry into the field was greeted by the release of the spectators’ mobile phones to capture the moment.
