SEA Games 2023: Under the Hot Sun, Glazed Bicycle Racer Wins Gold
Sayu Bella Sukma Dewi recorded a sweet score at the 2023 SEA Games Cambodia. Under the scorching Cambodian sun, Sayu Bella won a gold medal in the women’s Cross Country Olympic (XCO) bicycle race in Kulen Mountains, Siem Reap, Cambodia, Saturday (6/5/2023).
Sayu Bella was the fastest among the 17 other participants in the race along the 3.7 km track. Overall, Sayu Bella scored 1 hour 13.48 minutes with a total distance of 18.5 km.
In the SEA Games competition, Sayu Bella had the advantage of starting at the forefront.
Together with Dela Anjar Wulan, Sayu Bella started the race in second place at the 2023 XCO SEA Games. Dara Latifah started in 10th place.
Sayu Bella consistently beats lap after lap with an average speed of 15.0407 km/hour in the 2023 XCO SEA Games.
The bicycle racer who was born on August 16, 2003 was ahead of Malaysian athlete Nur Assyra Zainal Abidin who won silver.
Nur recorded a time of one hour 17.09 minutes. The bronze medal belongs to Thai racer Yonthanan Phonkla (one hour 18.42 minutes).
