Strategy Not Working Well, Dejan/Gloria Leave French Open 2024

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Indonesian mixed doubles Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja had to leave the 2024 French Open badminton tournament after being defeated by Jiang Zheng Bang/Wei Yan Xin, 11-21, 13-21 in the second round, Thursday (7/3/2024).

According to Dejan, they performed poorly in the second round of the 2024 French Open which was held at the Porte De La Chapelle Arena in Paris, France.

“Today the strategy is not working well. “We couldn't get out of their pattern of play, always serving first and opening,” said Dejan.

“That is indeed the advantage of most Chinese couples,” added Dejan.

According to Dejan, in the second game, they tried to escape from the opponent's playing pattern. “There was success, but after that they managed to control us again,” added the PB Djarum player.

According to Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, regarding the venue, this doesn't really matter.

“It doesn't matter even though it's our first time playing at this venue. “Indeed, my performance was not as expected,” said Gloria.
