Substitute Players Are the Key to the White Tiger's Victory

Kediri, Beritasatu.com – Persik managed to score a 3-1 victory over Barito Putera in the League 1 continuation at Brawijaya Stadium, Wednesday (28/2/2024). Persik scored three goals from Al Hamra Hehanusa in the 44th minute and two goals from M Khanafi (69 and 76). Meanwhile, Barito Putera's goal was scored by his player Bayu Pradana in the 80th minute.

Persik Kediri coach Marcelo Rospide expressed his appreciation to the substitute players who he considered to be the key to the team's victory.

“We regret it when a player is injured and has to be replaced. However, I really appreciate the substitute players who came in such as Faris, Khanafi and Otto who played extraordinary,” said Marcelo, during a press conference after the match, Wednesday (28/2/ 2024).

Marcelo assessed that his players were not confident when playing in the first half. According to him, home matches in front of thousands of spectators put a burden on the players to win. As a result, he said the players often made their own mistakes while in possession of the ball.

Then continuing into the second half, Marcelo reminded the players to play more calmly. “They don't have to rush because different from the first half the players were already ahead on goal,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Persik Kediri player Muhammad Khanafi said he was grateful to have won the match against PS Barito Putera. “Thank you to the supporters at home and those who came to the stadium because your support and prayers have a big impact on the team,” he concluded.
