Test of Guts, Indonesian U-17 National Team Will Trial Against South Korea

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The Indonesian U-17 national team is scheduled to face the South Korean U-17 national team in a trial match. This match is part of Garuda Asia’s preparations for the 2023 U-17 World Cup.

“God willing, we will try a friendly match for the U-17 national team against the South Korean U-17 national team, in August. This is a test of courage too,” said the general chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir, in a press conference, Thursday (20/7/2023), in Jakarta.

Erick Thohir revealed that the trial match for the U-17 national team for Indonesia vs South Korea was still being arranged regarding the exact schedule. However, he ensured that South Korea was ready to appear against Indonesia.

“In August (2023) it will still be between August 20-30. But, today’s 10-day slot from South Korea is okay, just the date, because again we have a league match. So if there is a collision with a league match, of course the field is also limited. This is what we are arranging, including this carousel is also arranging their preparations,” he said.

Erick also explained, the U-17 National Team had stepped on the gas to undergo preparations by holding a training camp in Jakarta. The selection process for the U-17 national team is still ongoing in various cities.

In addition, Bima Sakti’s U-17 national team will also undergo trials before leaving for Germany for further concentration ahead of the U-17 World Cup.

“Directly try it out before we leave in September-October for Germany later,” said Erick.

The 2023 U-17 World Cup will take place in Indonesia from 10 November to 2 December 2023.
