U-17 World Cup, These are 3 points from the meeting between Erick Thohir and Menpora

– The general chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir, and Menpora Dito Ariotedjo have held a coordination meeting regarding the continuation of the 2023 U-17 World Cup, Friday (7/7/2023).

After the coordination meeting, Chairman Erick Thohir presented three points. This is related to plans for a limited meeting with President Joko Widodo, the venue for the U-17 World Cup, and preparations for the Indonesian U-17 national team.

First Point, Erick Thohir said that PSSI and Menpora Dito Ariotedjo will meet President Joko Widodo next week. This is related to a limited meeting (ratas) to discuss the 2023 U-17 World Cup.

Several things that will be discussed in the limited meeting with President Jokowi are the administrative process and the use of the state budget for the 2023 U-17 World Cup.

“Administrative processes are prioritized because in using the state budget there must be a process. Therefore, God willing, the minister has proposed to the president to hold a discussion meeting on U17 next week,” said Erick Thohir.

After the ratas, said Erick, a Presidential Decree will be issued up to the budget allocation for the 2023 World Cup. Later, the budget for the event will not be much different from the U20 World Cup which was previously canceled in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Menpora Dito Ariotedjo said that the budget for holding the 2023 U-17 World Cup in Indonesia reached IDR 400 billion and this would be discussed in a limited meeting with President Jokowi.

“So the request from the Ketum (Erick Thohir), the budget is actually not far from the U20 (World Cup). So we will bring this to the ratas to ask for further directions from the president. Rangearound 400 (billion),” said Menpora Dito.
