League 1: Six-goal drama, Persib holds Arema FC 3-3

– Victory has yet to come to Persib Bandung in League 1. This time, Maung Bandung again has to reap a draw in the second match of League 1 season 2023/2024. In the second match of the season, Persib held Arema FC 3-3 in a fierce match at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Bali, Friday (7/7/2023).

In this match, both teams exchanged goals. Ciro Alves scored two Persib goals in the 10th and 54th minutes, as well as one goal by David da Silva (38th).

Meanwhile, Gustavo Almeida dos Santos scored hattrick for Arema FC in the sixth minute and two penalties in the 17th and 88th minutes.

Persib and Arema FC both played openly from the early minutes of the first half. Singo Edan’s attack in the 6th minute resulted in a goal thanks to Gustavo’s action.

Arema’s advantage lasted three minutes after Persib equalized the score through Ciro Alves’ goal.

The competition is even tougher. In the 15th minute, Persib’s new defender Alberto Rodriguez committed a violation that resulted in a yellow card.

In the 17th minute, Arema regained the lead thanks to Gustavo Almeida’s second goal which was created from the penalty spot. Persib was again able to equalize the score after David Da Silva scored in the 38th minute with a low kick to the right side of the goal.

The 2-2 score lasted until the first half.

In the second half, both Persib and Arema FC continued to attack. Persib turned things around in the 54th minute when Ciro Alves scored the second goal against Arema FC.

In the 70th minute, Edo Febriansah fired hard in front of the penalty box, but the ball was cleared by the opponent. In the 72nd minute Edo Rezaldi was replaced by Hehanu and Beckham by Frets Butuan.

Persib coach Luis Milla made changes. Marc Klok was replaced by Robi Darwis in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, Gustavo Almeida scored the third goal with a penalty in the 88th minute after Teja Paku Alam fouled Lokoli Ngoy in the penalty area. The score was 3-3 and lasted until the fight ended.
