Women’s U-19 AFF Cup: Left Behind, Women’s U-19 National Team Beats Laos 4-1

– Another victory was won by the U-19 Women’s National Team in the group stage of the U-19 Women’s AFF Cup. This time, Indonesia frustrated Laos resistance with a 4-1 victory in the second match of Group A at the Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium, Friday (7/7/2023).

Indonesia was taken by surprise after Laos opened the scoring in the 12th minute. But then the U-19 Indonesian women’s national team scored a goal five minutes later.

Armelia Sava scored the equalizer for the Indonesian national team with a long shot. The ball that hits the opposing defender also deceives the goalkeeper so that it is too late to receive the ball.

When the first round match entered extra time, the Indonesian U-19 women’s national team won 2-1 thanks to Claudia Scheunemann’s goal. Taking advantage of the Lao goalkeeper’s mistake in blocking the cross, Claudia completed it by kicking it into the goal.

The 2-1 score for Indonesia’s advantage lasted until the first half ended.

In the second half, Claudia scored her second goal in the 68th minute. Escape from the trap off side when receiving a through ball from Gea Yumanda, Claudia beat the Lao goalkeeper.

In the 83rd minute, Ayunda managed to help Garuda Pertiwi win. After a good move from Marsela Awi, Ayunda calmly sent the ball into the net. Ayunda’s goal ended the match and ensured that the Indonesian U-19 women’s national team won 4-1.

With this result, Indonesia has packed six points from the two games played. Previously, Indonesia beat East Timor 7-0 goals.

Indonesia and Cambodia each have six points. The match between Indonesia and Cambodia on Sunday (7/9) will determine which team will win Group A and fight for a place in the semifinals of the 2023 U-19 Women’s AFF Cup.
