Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Arsenal recorded their sixth consecutive win in the 2023/2024 Premier League after beating guests Newcastle United 4-1 on Saturday (24/2/2024). Bukayo Saka, who scored one of the Gunners' goals, praised his team's performance.

“We worked hard and have a quality attack line. Everything is starting to go well, we just need to continue like this,” said Saka after the match.

Arsenal returned to winning ways after losing 0-0 in the Champions League to Porto midweek. The hosts completely dominated the match against Newcastle, who looked nothing like last season when they finished fourth in the final standings.

The Gunners have scored 25 goals in their six league games in 2024, with 15 in the last three games.

Arsenal's first goal was slightly assisted by Newcastle defender, Sven Botman. Newcastle goalkeeper Loris Karius managed to save Gabriel Magalhaes' header, but Botman made a mistake in his attempt to clear the ball and instead pushed the ball into the goal with his knee.

Arsenal's second goal was scored by Kai Havertz. Starting from Jorginho's pass towards Gabriel Martinelli on the right side of the penalty box, the Brazilian passed the ball back to Kai Havertz who scored from close range in the 24th minute.

Newcastle, who previously beat Arsenal 1-0 at home in November, was only able to get their first shot off in the 49th minute through Anthony Gordon's shot which was saved by Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya.

Saka made the score 3-0 with action from the right side, then fired a low left foot shot. Defender Jakub Kiwior scored Arsenal's fourth goal from a corner kick in the 69th minute.

Newcastle scored a consolation goal through former Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock in the 84th minute.

With this victory, Arsenal is still in third place in the 2023/2024 Premier League standings, two points away from the leaders, Liverpool, and one point from Manchester City in second place.
