Winning decisively, the Nerazzurri show a strong signal to be champions of the Italian League

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Inter again showed a strong signal of becoming champions of the Italian League competition this season after beating fifth-placed Atalanta with a landslide score of 4-0, at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, Thursday (29/2/2024) early morning WIB.

Simone Inzaghi's team scored goals from Matteo Darmian, Lautaro Martinez, Federico Di Marco and Davide Frattesi. This 22nd win from 26 matches strengthens Inter's position as leader of the Italian League standings.

Nerazzurri, nicknamed Inter, is now perched in the Serie A standings with a collection of 69 points. They are 12 points ahead of second-placed Juventus. Meanwhile, this eighth defeat means Atalanta is stuck in fifth place with 46 points. Gian Piero Gasperini's team is two points behind fourth-placed Bologna.

This win means Inter scored at least four goals in four consecutive Serie A matches. This score has only been achieved by this club once before, namely in the 1929-1930 season.

In this match at San Siro, Charles De Ketelaere thought he had given Atalanta the lead, but it was disallowed for handball Aleksei Miranchuk, while VAR then returned to help them handle Hans Hateboer's foul.

“In the first 10-15 minutes Atalanta pressed us very intensely, so we had to organize ourselves. “The start of the game was not our usual approach, but then we scored a goal, hit the bar and went out for the second half with ferocity,” Inzaghi told DAZN.

“These are great signs for our journey, which must continue without pause.”

Frattesi limped off with a muscle problem just after scoring his team's fourth goal. “Frattesi was outstanding, but 15 minutes from the end he had a bit of cramp. “He is one of the people most affected by his choice, because he is in very good condition, it would be a shame if he had to stop now,” added Inzaghi again.

Inter are now 12 points ahead at the top of the Serie A standings, but Inzaghi doesn't want to brag.

“There's no denying the team is playing well and has been for two and a half years. We won five trophies, played in the Champions League final and had a good lead at the top of the table. “We opened the gap in a month and the gap can disappear again in the same time period,” explained Inzaghi again.

Squad rotation doesn't appear to have made much of a difference for this Nerazzurri side, who have now won all 11 of the competitive games they have played in 2024.

“We could replace seven or eight players and that makes my life difficult in terms of choices starting XI. “I am lucky to have extraordinary players who give me everything whether they play 10 minutes or 90 minutes,” he said.
