Yogyakarta Ready to Hold BNI Badminton Asia Junior Championships 2023

The city of Yogyakarta is ready to hold the BNI Badminton Asia Junior Championships (AJC) 2023, at the Amongraga Sports Hall, Yogyakarta, 7-16 July 2023.

The chairman of the AJC 2023 organizing committee, Armand Darmadji stated, the PBSI Central Management and PBSI Pengprov Yogyakarta Special Region were ready to hold the Badminton Asia Junior Championship 2023.

“Yogyakarta is a city that has a long history in the world of Indonesian badminton by producing world-class players,” said Armand, at a Badminton Asia Junior Championship 2023 press conference in Yogyakarta, Thursday (6/7/2023).

“We are ready to hold this championship and enthusiastically welcome the participants to a city rich in Indonesian badminton history. We are proud to be able to hold this tournament in Yogyakarta,” added Armand.

The press conference was also attended by Yunianto Dwisutono, Assistant for Government and People’s Welfare of the Yogyakarta City Government, PBSI Representative for the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Ibnu Hajar. Also present were four host players, namely Mutiara Ayu Puspitasari, Nikolaus Joaquin, Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu, and Adrian Pratama.

Armand explained, they were very proud and happy to be able to bring an international level badminton tournament to the City of Yogyakarta.

This championship will compete in two categories, namely the mixed team with a format similar to the Sudirman Cup on July 7-11, and individual events on July 12-16.

According to Armand, preparations at the Amongraga Yogyakarta Sports Hall are almost complete and they are ready to hold the most prestigious junior event in the Asian region the following day.
