3 Players from Cirebon Selected to Participate in the U-17 National Team Selection

Cirebon, Beritasatu.com – Three teenagers from Cirebon Regency, West Java were summoned to participate in the selection of the Indonesian U-17 National Team which will play in the 2023 U-17 World Cup. The three names are Mohamad Farhan (17), Berkah Rahmat Widodo (17), and Raihan Ar Rukhul Amien (16).

Based on a letter circulated by the West Java Association of Indonesian Football Associations (PSSI) number 588/PSSI-JBR/UD/418/VII-2023, this son from Cirebon Regency will take part in the selection at the Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, Wednesday (12/7) /2023).

The U-17 National Team selection participant, Mohamad Farhan said, he did not expect to receive an invitation to take part in the selection. The reason is, the selection is to compete in the world arena.

“Last night, I received an invitation from the West Java Provincial Association (Asprov) of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) to take part in the West Java U-17 national team selection,” Farhan said when met at the Cirebon Regency Youth and Sports Service (Dispora), Cirebon Regency, Tuesday. (11/7/2023).

Farhan and his two colleagues admitted that they were ready physically and mentally to take part in the selection. “As far as football is concerned, this is the highest achievement for us,” said Farhan.

Previously, the coach of the U-17 Indonesian national team, Bima Sakti, summoned 34 players to take part in a training camp or training camp (TC) in Jakarta from 9 July to 28 August.

Of the names summoned, including the U-17 Indonesia 2022 national team players such as Muhammad Iqbal Gwijangge, Arkhan Kaka, Muhammad Kafiatur and others. Of the junior players, six players were invited namely Welber Halim Jardin, Madrid Augusta, Mahesa Ekayanto, Staffan Qabiel Horrito, Aaron Liam Suitela, and Aaron Nathan Ang.

“Thank God, we started the selection for the Indonesian U-17 team training camp today with medical tests on all players. This selection is valid until August 28 and there are already 34 players who have been called up for the initial stage,” said Bima Sakti.

The Garuda Asia Team started its first activity with a health check, Monday (10/7/2023).

“Obviously we are very selective in choosing players and looking for players that suit the needs of the team. Of course the criteria we need is the quality of the player, skills individual, chemistry with friends, mentality, discipline and so on,” he added.
