The film ‘The Kerala Story’ is ruling the box office amidst frequent political controversies. Many politicians have claimed that the film is based on wrong facts and spreads hatred, but director Sudipto Sen and producer Vipul Shah have clarified that the film is a real story of three girls who went through such hardship. Now the makers and lead actress Adah Sharma have met minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha to talk about the film.
The film has been banned in West Bengal and multiplex owners in Tamil Nadu have also pulled the film from their theaters citing security threats. To talk about the same, the makers of the film had a meeting with Lodha, where they talked about the security of the artistes and multiplex owners and making the film tax free, among other issues. The film has already been declared tax free in UP, MP and Assam.
The film ‘The Kerala Story’ depicts how women from Kerala were forced to convert to Islam and recruited into the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group. The film, which released on May 5, has created a political storm. It is produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s Sunshine Pictures.
