Salah and Klopp quarrel on the side of the pitch, Carragher reveals the cause

London, Beritasatu.com – There was an incident of quarrel between Liverpool mainstay Mohamed Salah and manager Jurgen Klopp on the sidelines, before the end of the English Premier League match against hosts West Ham, Saturday (27/4/2024) evening WIB.

It is known that Salah and Klopp argued on the sidelines when Liverpool drew 2-2 against West Ham.

The incident occurred as Salah, who was left out of the starting XI following his much-criticized performance in the Merseyside derby (against Everton) on Wednesday, was waiting to come on with 11 minutes remaining at the London Stadium.

Klopp turned to Salah on the touchline, and the two exchanged words before Salah was sent off by Joe Gomez and Darwin Nunez.

After that Klopp refused to divulge what triggered the incident. “We talked in the dressing room. For me, it's finished,” said the German coach.

When asked by journalists whether Salah felt this problem was over, Klopp agreed. “That's my impression, yes,” he said.

Meanwhile, former Liverpool player and football commentator Jamie Carragher posted on X what he thought was the cause of Salah and Klopp's quarrel. “The only reason a manager would be unhappy in this situation, is because the player takes too long to be ready to come in,” he wrote.

Talking before kick-offa football commentator who is also a former Tim Sherwood player, sees Liverpool's title hopes dwindling.

Liverpool's latest setback has dealt another significant blow to their title bid. Klopp's men have won just one of their last five Premier League games.

They are one point behind second-place Man City, who have two games in hand, and two points behind leaders Arsenal, who have one game in hand.

“To be honest, I'm not interested in talking about it or discussing it at all,” Klopp said TNT.

“We had to win here, we knew that, and we didn't, and now we have a little more time between now and the next game. We tried to get the players ready again and we will compete again,” explained Klopp commenting on the draw.
