Draw in Leg 1, Allegri remains optimistic that Juventus will reach the Europa League final

Juventus were held to a 1-1 draw by Sevilla in Turin in the match leg 1 Europa League semifinals, Friday (12/5/2023) early this morning. Even if you have to play on leg 2 in Spain, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is optimistic his team can advance to the Europa League final.

In the first leg match at the Allianz Stadium, Juventus were left behind by Youssef En-Nesyri’s goal in the 26th minute. The home side was able to score a goal to equalize through Federico Gatti’s header in the 90+7th minute.

Even though they drew 1-1, Max Allegri admitted that he was still optimistic that his team could qualify for the final because Juventus had a winning mentality.

“I believe we can do it, because this team has always shown they can come back and fight,” said Allegri.

“We started well, but made some wrong choices in the final third, and conceded a goal on the first counter-attack,” said Allegri.

Match leg 2 will be played at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan home to Sevilla on Friday (19/5) at 02.00 WIB.

Before carrying out the second leg of the semi-final later, the two teams have played one match in the domestic competition.

Juventus will face Cremonese at home on Monday (15/5/2023) in the 2022/2023 Serie A season, while Sevilla will face Real Valladolid on Sunday (14/5/2023) in the continuation of LaLiga.
